JCCA Captains' End-of-Season

7:00 PM CALL
TO ORDER and opening remarks, citing progress the JCCA has made in expansion and
increased internal participation - by Gay Fourroux, JCCA President and Tennis
Chairman
7:05 PM Introduction of the CURRENT Competition
Committee - Gay Fourroux, Marcel Gelpi, Bill Pryor, and Ski Chelchowski.
7:05 PM Season
recap, including rainouts, stressing that rainouts are not made up in JCCA) -

7:15 PM Scores
and standings, playoffs, player eligibility & the playoff format Bill

· Each player must have
played a minimum of 7 Matches to participate in the playoffs. (Name listed for RECEIVING a Forfeit counts
toward playoff eligibility.)
· Matches played in ANY
Division count toward eligibility.
· Player MUST have
played most of his Matches in the Division he play in for the Playoffs.
·
Players are
limited to ONE Division for playoffs.
·
BOTH TEAMS
will bring FOUR CANS of balls to the court.
AT THE CONCLUSION OF PLAY, the WINNING TEAM will take the FOUR UNOPENED
cans of ball to use in the next round.

WINNING
CAPTAIN MUST REPORT results to the DIVISION COORDINATOR within 48 hours (PLAYOFF
SCORES ARE NOT TO BE ENTERED IN TENNISSCOREBOARD). DIVISION COORDINATORS ARE:

· Captains for the next
Playoff round must know, not later than 72 hours after the match, who is to be
their opponent for the upcoming round.
FAILURE TO REPORT PLAYOFF SCORES TO THE DIVISION COORDINATORS WITHIN 48
HOURS WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE BY THE WINNING TEAM.
· Court availability is
a HOST CAPTAIN Responsibility. Captains are to work out the details between
their club and their opponent captains.
In the event the matches must be played AT A DIFFERENT TIME, that time
shall be IN ADVANCE of the scheduled date - not later.

REFRESHMENTS:
HOST Team provides refreshments, even if played elsewhere.
7:30 PM Review
of Electronic Scoring Barry Breaux
· Changes planned for
next year - Electronic Scoreboard will incorporate player eligibility rules -
SCOREKEEPER will not be able to over-ride.
· Communication -
Electronic scoring is instantaneous
· Availability of
Tennis Data - Electronic Data Transfer - easy and fast - up-to-date
immediately.

otherwise it is not:

for 2004-2005 ANTICIPATES Beach Club moving to Red
· What teams will move?
RED:
IF ANY RED TEAM MOVES DOWN it will be West End
WHITE:
Two White teams are candidates to move UP BC#1 & GA#3. If both, WE#1 MUST move to White
Also, two White teams are candidates to move Down DW#1 & TT#2. Competition Committee will decide.
GOLD:
Two Gold teams are candidates to move UP GA#4 & RS#1. Competition Committee will decide
Also, two Gold teams are candidates to move Down BM#2 & PMCC#2. Competition Committee will decide.
BLUE:
Two Blue teams are candidates to move UP ORM#2 & WL#1. Competition Committee will decide
Also, two Blue teams are candidates to move Down BC#2 & GA#5. Competition Committee will decide.
GREEN:
Two Green teams are candidates to move UP GA#6 & WL#2. Competition Committee will decide

Country Club could possibly field two teams - a Blue and a Green.

Country Club could field a Green
or a Blue.
8:15 PM Tennis Committee Vote on consideration of Aurora AND Metairie Country Club, for joining JCCA (ratification by JCCA Board of Directors also required).
8:45 PM Vote on election of a new Tennis Committee. The following Slate is proposed by the current Tennis Committee Bill Pryor:

Breaux is retiring from the Competition Committee to go into the business of
providing the computer service that he now provides for free.
9:15 PM Vote
on whether to Revise the JCCA Rules as a means of making them more orderly and
easier to use Bill Pryor
Bill
Pryor will enter a Motion that the JCCA Rules be Revised to follow a standard
format. A proposed Revision would be
posted on the web for comment, with discussion and voting to adopt the Revision
to occur in the August Captains Meeting.
